I shared on Monday that my focus this week was the spine. When I mention a focus of the week, I would like you to realize I want you to do more than just connect with it in my classes.
Many of us get to our jobs and don’t really waver for the rest of the work day. I would like you to think about it throughout your day (not constantly; but, at least, occasionally).
When you are sitting at your desk or driving your car . . . what can you do to help your overall spine health? Maybe you spend your day gardening, or knitting, or fishing or a thousand other activities.
Do you keep your Yoga Tune Up® balls handy for quick therapy? Maybe you just need to take the time to twist from side to side with a bit of resistance or try some seated cat/cows a few times throughout the day. All these options take mere moments and the benefits in reduced pain, increased mental alertness, and the shear joy of the sensation of rolling, twisting or stretching is never to be underestimated.
And don’t forget, whatever you are in the midst of, take a few minutes to walk the kinks out at least once an hour, please. Give it a try.
